WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

...HIGH WIND EVENT WINDING DOWN THIS AFTERNOON... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight Winds will gradually decrease late this afternoon and evening as a powerful storm system moves northeast away from our area. Gusts to around 60 mph can still be expected over the northeast plains, roughly along and north of a line from Greeley to Akron, through mid to late afternoon. That will produce areas of blowing dust mainly from around east of Greeley into portions of Morgan and southern Washington Counties where only light precipitation fell yesterday. If traveling in this area today, be alert for rapidly changing visibility, and slow down before entering any plumes of dust. Fire danger will be elevated due to the winds and low humidity, but critical fire weather conditions will be present in portions of the I-25 Corridor, and also along I-70 through Lincoln County. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday There will be a chance of light snow in the mountains Monday and Wednesday but amounts and impacts will be very minimal. The only weather concern in the extended is the potential for critical fire weather conditions across the plains on Friday and Saturday due to warm, dry, and windy conditions. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
