WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Strong winds will impact the foothills and adjacent lower elevations through tonight, with localized gusts 55-75 mph west of I-25. With windy, warm and dry conditions in place, critical fire weather conditions will develop across all of the lower elevations, and may be rather persistent for the western Denver metro into this evening. Light snow showers with blowing snow across high mountain elevations will begin overnight.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday  It will be windy again on Monday, with gusts up to 50 mph on the plains and 60 mph in the mountains. These strong winds combined with the dry conditions will lead to continued elevated fire weather conditions across the lower elevations.  Snow will become widespread in the northern Colorado mountains Monday and continue into Tuesday. A period of heavier snow is possible over the higher mountains Monday night. The snow and windy conditions will produce difficult travel over the passes late Monday into Tuesday. Snow will spread onto the plains Tuesday behind a strong cold front. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected across much of the plains. Warm temperatures will limit the impact on travel, but some brief impacts are possible mainly late Tuesday afternoon and evening.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
