This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Additional mountain snow will not be as intense this afternoon. It will increase in intensity again tonight. Westerly winds will likely produce wind gusts up to 45-55 mph over exposed ridges. These conditions will result in some blowing snow along mountain passes. For the plains, the frigid weather will continue. Weak bands of light snow will be possible until noon or so then dissipate with just a few flurries this afternoon. Another round of light snow begins late this evening spreading across the entire plains overnight. Snow accumulation through tonight up to 1 inch mainly for areas north of I-76. Dangerous wind chills are possible overnight between -20 to -30. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall will continue in the mountains on Monday but should begin to decrease in the afternoon Meanwhile light snow will spread across the plains on Monday behind another surge of arctic air. Frigid conditions will continue through Tuesday morning, as low temperatures drop well below zero. Wind chill readings during this period will be dangerously cold, with frostbite potential on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Temperatures will begin to moderate across the plains by Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.
