WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  There will be light snow in the mountains beginning around midday and lasting through tonight. Expect slick roads and poor travel conditions. Tonight, snow will expand in coverage, mainly over the southern foothills and Palmer Divide. After midnight, the combination of moderate snow and strong winds may create blizzard conditions over the Palmer Divide and southern Denver metro. Hazardous travel conditions are expected mainly for the Monday morning commute.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday  Unsettled weather will persist through much of the period. Snow continues Monday morning, ending by the afternoon. Expect hazardous travel conditions for the Monday AM commute from areas of blowing snow and reduced visibilities across the Palmer Divide and south Denver metro. Strong and gusty winds expected to develop across the plains Monday afternoon. Areas of the southern Palmer Divide and Lincoln County may gust up to 60-70 mph. There may be a little snow in the mountains on Tuesday, otherwise dry. More snow is expected in the mountains by Wednesday, with another chance for some snow spreading into the plains on Thursday and Friday. High winds in the mountains early Tuesday and Tuesday night into Wednesday.  There is potential for a strong arctic airmass to settle in by the weekend resulting in well below normal temperatures. Timing and strength of this airmass remains uncertain at this time.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
