Blizzard warnings continue for the eastern plains of Colorado This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Blizzard conditions will remain widespread for much of the plains today with ongoing snow and strong north winds gusting up to 60 mph at times. The heaviest snow is expected across the Palmer Divide and eastward towards the Kansas border into the evening where an additional 3-6 inches are possible. The combination of wind and snow will make for dangerous travel conditions into early Wednesday. Outside of areas with falling snow, blowing dust may also reduce visibility. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday The eastern plains can expect snow and strong gusty winds of 40 to 55 mph on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Widespread blowing snow will cause blizzard conditions in Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington and northern Lincoln Counties. Avoid travel in these areas into Wednesday morning as driving will be dangerous. Snow showers and breezy winds may also create slick conditions and blowing snow at times in the northern mountains and for the Palmer Divide into Elbert County Tuesday into Wednesday. From later Wednesday into the weekend, the weather will mainly be dry with just a few light snow showers over the higher mountains. Temperatures look to be near seasonal normals or a tad warmer. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight but snowfall and high wind reports would be appreciated.
