WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS FOR THE MOUNTAINS INTO TONIGHT...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  The mountains will continue to see periods of snow and strong winds today. The snow will decrease by late afternoon in the valleys and the Interstate 70 corridor, while areas near the northern Colorado border will continue to have significant snow this evening. Wind gusts to 60 mph along with snowfall will make travel very difficult due to blowing snow and poor visibilities.  For the east slopes of the Front Range and plains, it will be windy today. Gusts of 30 to 50 mph can be expected in the mountains, with 20 to 40 mph on the plains. Gusts to 80 mph are possible in the Front Range foothills, with the main threat in the late afternoon and evening. The winds on the plains will diminish in the evening, but it will stay windy in the foothills tonight with some decrease on Monday.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday  Scattered alpine snow showers will linger over the higher peaks on Monday, with dry conditions for the rest of the forecast area. Very light additional snowfall accumulations can be expected. Dry and warmer weather is expected for all areas through Thursday.  The next system will bring snow to the mountains Friday and Saturday with a chance of snow for the plains those two days. Temperatures will cool to below seasonal normals on Friday and Saturday after the passage of cold front Friday morning.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
