The next storm system will impact the area Wednesday and Thursday with showers likely and even a couple thunderstorms. Confidence is growing that several inches of snow will accumulate in the mountains late Wednesday night through Thursday night, with some travel impacts for higher mountain passes. Lower elevations will see at least scattered rain showers, but there is potential for steadier rain and even some snow over the northeast plains.
