This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight An active period of afternoon storms and showers will occur through today. Scattered showers and storms moving across the urban corridor early this morning will continue to track eastward through the remainder of the morning. Brief light to moderate rainfall, gusty winds along with cloud to ground lightning can be expected. Later today, an upper level disturbance will cause widespread showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Storms may become severe across the plains, especially east of a line from Akron to Deer Trail to Castle Rock. The storms may produce hail up to tennis ball size, damaging wind gusts, very heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes. The flash flood threat will be elevated in the burn scars this afternoon, with the greatest threat of flash flooding expected to be over Lincoln and Washington counties. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Thunderstorm activity will decrease Friday with isolated to scattered thunderstorms. By Saturday, most areas will be dry with only a few high based showers and storms possible over the higher terrain.
