WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN THE MOUNTAINS INTO THURSDAY...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  A big change is in the works! We'll transition from warm temperatures on the plains today to much colder weather and wintry precipitation tonight.  In the mountains, snow will be ongoing in the Park Range and Rabbit Ears Pass area this morning, and then become heavier and shift east across the the Front Range and I-70 Mountain Corridor late this afternoon and evening. A brief period of very heavy snow and poor visibility will be possible this evening.  On the plains, it will turn much colder with gusty north winds arriving this evening. Rain showers will develop, and then turn to snow overnight as temperatures drop.  Mainly light snow accumulations of an inch or less will be possible over most of the plains by daybreak Thursday, while mountain areas will pick up several inches of snow and have hazardous travel conditions. Most roads on the plains should retain enough warmth to limit any travel impacts.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  Light snow is expected to continue over the mountains, foothills, the immediate plains and the Palmer Ridge on Thursday. Friday and Saturday look dry. Alpine snow showers will return from Sunday into early next week. The airmass in place looks to remain below seasonal normals into early next week.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. However, any reports of snowfall will be appreciated.
