WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Very windy west to southwest winds will develop by early afternoon over much over the area. Gusts across the Front Range and eastern plains are expected to range from 30 to 50 mph with the strongest winds found south of Interstate 70. Over the higher terrain, gusts up to 60 mph will be possible. The gusty winds will increase the fire danger across parts of the plains where relative humidity readings will be low.  In the mountains, areas of snow will prevail today and tonight. Snowfall amounts of 4 to 9 inches are expected over the northern mountains with up to a foot over the mountains of western Jackson county. Roads are expected to become snow covered and travel will be difficult over the northern mountains due to the snow covered roads and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday  This coming week looks to be unsettled and cooler than normal. Periods of light snow will be likely in the mountains through the week into next weekend.  For the plains, there will be a chance of light snow or freezing drizzle Monday night through Tuesday. There will be a chance of light snow on Wednesday.  There is the potential for a more significant snowfall Wednesday night into through Thursday night for all the forecast area. There is still some uncertainty with the specifics of this storm system.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today.
