...HIGH WIND WARNING FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS UNTIL NOON TUESDAY... ...WINTER STORM WATCH NORTHERN MOUNTAINS, NORTHERN FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS, AND LARIMER AND NORTHERN WELD COUNTIES LATE TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Periods of strong winds can be expected across the Front Range Mountains and Foothills through tonight. Peak gusts around 75 mph can be expected this morning in wind prone areas, and then again late tonight through early Tuesday morning. A slight lull can be expected in the high country late this afternoon and evening. Broken tree limbs and isolated power outages are possible. Avoid travel in high profile or lightweight vehicles on the Peak to Peak Highway, Highway 93 between Boulder and Golden, and US 36 from Broomfield to Estes Park. Gusty winds and areas of blowing snow may also impact Highway 285 in South Park between Jefferson and Fairplay. On the plains, gusty winds will spread across the I-25 Corridor and northern border area through this afternoon, but peak gusts in those locations should mostly range between 30 and 50 mph with the strongest winds favoring areas west of I-25. Light snow can be expected in the northern mountains, with a few inches of accumulation possible in the Park Range, and a couple inches in the Indian Peaks and Medicine Bow Range through tonight. Little if any accumulation will occur in the I-70 Mountain Corridor through Summit County. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday The next winter system arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday night bringing snow and cold temperatures for all areas. Parts of the northern foothills and mountains are favored to receive heavy snowfall and blowing snow conditions. Thus a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for these areas through Wednesday night. Wednesday PM commute will likely become hazardous for those traveling across I-70 and I-25. Thursday into this weekend, temperatures will increase for all areas and chances of light mountain snow increase. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
