WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Chilly temperatures continue today where parts of the higher elevations will reach the lower 20s and the plains will trend near the lower 30s. Light snow develops this afternoon in the mountains, valleys, and foothills with snowfall accumulation trending between 1- 3 inches. This pattern will carry into the urban corridor and Palmer Divide in the early evening with totals between 0.5-1 inch. Those traveling along I-25 and I-70 west will likely encounter slick roads on their PM commute. Mostly cloudy skies are expected through tonight.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday  Light snow will continue in the mountains through Wednesday night, resulting in slick and hazardous travel in the Colorado high country. Another 1 to 4 inches of snow can be expected in elevations above 9000 feet. In lower elevations, there will be a chance of snow Wednesday with the highest chances over the Palmer Divide area where up to an inch of snow is possible. Gusty winds may also bring some shallow blowing or drifting snow over the northeast plains.  Generally drier weather can be expected Thursday and Friday, although some light snow may linger in the mountains. Strong, gusty winds will develop over portions of the Front Range Mountains and Foothills during this period.  Temperatures are expected to turn much colder by late Saturday or Sunday, and remain quite cold through early next week as arctic air invades the region. Another round of mainly light snow will be possible.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed, but snowfall reports will be appreciated.
