…Synopsis…
A large area of high pressure covering most of the CONUS will
prevent low-level destabilization for deep moist convection today
over land areas. Across the Pacific Northwest, an approaching
shortwave trough will take on a negative tilt while fostering
lightning-producing convection over open waters overnight. A few
strikes may occur along coastal ares of Washington State and Oregon,
though the bulk of this activity may hold off until after 12Z
Tuesday.
