A few strong storms are possible across parts of the southern High
Plains tonight.

Weak large-scale height rises are expected across the southern High
Plains tonight. In the absence of a short-wave trough, LLJ will be
the primary mechanism for potential convective development. 00z
sounding from DRT is strongly capped with PW value on the order of
1.5″. This PW-plume should begin advancing north-northwest later
this evening and while 00z MAF sounding was notably dry/stable,
elevated buoyancy should increase after 06z. Forecast soundings
suggest a few strong elevated storms are possible across this region
late.
