YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A few severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening, mainly south of Interstate 70 between 4 PM and 9 PM MDT. Wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail around one inch in diameter are the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall and nuisance flooding are also possible.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  A prolonged period of hot weather is expected this weekend and early next week. High temperatures and heat index values are forecast to reach or exceed 100 degrees on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Low temperatures in the 60's and 70's may provide little relief during the overnight and early morning hours. Extended periods of heat drastically increase the risk of heat related illnesses.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions.
