YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... A Red Flag Warning remains in effect this afternoon for eastern Colorado, where relative humidity will drop to around 10% and west to northwest winds will gust up to 30 mph. A rogue dry lightning strike can't be ruled out. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control. These conditions may also spread into the Highway 27 corridor for an hour or two later in the afternoon. There is a 20% chance for wind gusts around 60 mph Friday evening as a cold front moves through the area. Winds of this magnitude would lead to hazardous driving conditions especially for high profile vehicles. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... A conditional threat for strong to severe storms exists on Saturday along and east of a Decatur to Gove county line and again on Sunday with potentially more of the area with a threat. Large hail and damaging winds would be the primary hazards should storms develop. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Active weather across portions of the Tri-State Area is anticipated. Spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions.
