The first freeze of the season is expected along and east of Highway 25 in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska tonight. Lows will be in the middle 20s to lower 30s. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... Windy conditions are expected across the area each day Wednesday through Friday. Southerly winds gusting 40 to 50 mph will be common, with locally higher gusts possible. Near critical to critical fire weather conditions are expected Wednesday afternoon generally along and east of Highway 25 where Fire Weather Watches and Red Flag Warnings are in effect. On Thursday, areas of blowing dust are possible from late afternoon through about sunset for locations generally east of a line from Benkelman to Burlington and Cheyenne Wells.
