Scattered showers and storms capable of locally heavy down downpours, and cloud to ground lightning will be present mainly along and south of the Interstate 70 corridor around sunrise Friday morning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... Friday, severe thunderstorms may occur across the area during the latter half of afternoon through the evening hours. Hail up to golf ball size and wind gusts around 70 mph are the primary hazards. A tornado also can't be ruled out. The severe weather risk increases east of Highway 27.
