YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  Smoke from wildfires in the Texas panhandle will move into areas generally along and east of Highway 27 from around 12 AM MST (1 AM CST) through the rest of the night. Those who have health sensitivities may want to prepare for several hours of poor air quality.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  The wildfire smoke is anticipated to move east and out of the Tri- State area late Thursday morning with another chance returning late in the afternoon through the night generally east of Highway 25.  A lengthy period of near critical to critical fire weather conditions remain in the forecast Saturday through Tuesday. During this period, outdoor burning is highly discouraged. A cold front is forecast to move through the area sometime during the day Sunday. Should any fires occur, they will quickly shift their direction of movement when the cold front moves through. Stay tuned as we refine the timing of the front and wind shift.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
