WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 5 AM Thursday morning for Rabbit Ears Pass...  ...Red Flag Warning in effect for southeast Elbert and southern Lincoln County until 6 PM this evening...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Westerly flow aloft will bring gusty winds over the mountains and foothills today with gusts up to 60 mph possible. Snowfall in the mountains has tapered off this morning, but will increase later this afternoon and tonight. Accumulations of 4 to 10 inches in Park Range with 1 to 5 inches elsewhere.  Low relative humidity and gusty are expected to bring southern portions of Elbert and Lincoln Counties to meet Red Flag Warning thresholds.  The plains will see the chance for rain showers beginning this evening with some areas transitioning to snow showers overnight. Snowfall accumulations are not expected for the plains aside from the possibility of minimal accumulations falling over the Palmer Divide.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  Light snow showers may produce slick conditions for mountain passes Thursday, with a 20% chance of locally slick conditions for the urban corridor early Thursday morning. Stronger winds will impact the mountains by Sunday, spreading into the lower elevations Monday, when locally critical fire weather conditions may occur.  The mountains will see increasing potential for impactful snow and blowing snow as early as Monday, with higher likelihood of impacts come Tuesday. Forecast details for early next week are more uncertain for the lower elevations, although a return to unsettled weather is favored region-wide.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
