This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Moderate to heavy snow along with widespread blowing snow is expected over the high mountains of north central Colorado today. Additional snow accumulations will be 3 to 6 inches in the higher mountains, with heavier amounts near the Wyoming border. The valleys west of the Front Range can expect another 1 to 3 inches. Most of the snow will fall this morning, but the strong winds will continue to produce areas of low visibilities and drifting snow this afternoon. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible over the higher elevations and east slopes this morning, with a gradual decrease this afternoon. At lower elevations, a sharp cold front will bring a quick drop of about 20 degrees to most of the plains this afternoon, with temperatures in the teens by early evening.
