YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Yuma and Kit Carson counties in Colorado through Sunday evening. Heaviest snowfall is forecasted across eastern portions of each county; this along with strong north winds gusting up to 50 mph will create dangerous travel conditions and localized blizzard conditions.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Cheyenne Counties in Colorado, Sherman, Cheyenne and Rawlins counties in Kansas and Dundy and Hitchcock counties in Nebraska, beginning late this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Another round of snow is expected along and north of Interstate 70 late Monday evening into Tuesday. Strong northwesterly winds are anticipated to affect the majority of the area in this time frame. Hazardous travel conditions are likely.  A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Red Willow, Decatur and Norton counties Monday through Tuesday evening as heavy snowfall and blizzard like conditions are forecast to develop  If traveling for the holidays continue to check back for the most up to date forecast.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotters are encouraged to report hazardous winter weather conditions to the National Weather Service in Goodland via telephone or social media.
