This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Heat indices of 100 to 102 degrees are expected for this afternoon generally for areas along and east of U.S. Highway 83. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... Heat indices up to 100 degrees are possible again on Friday afternoon for the far eastern portions of the Tri-State Area. Shower and thunderstorms are expected for the region beginning on Friday afternoon and going into the night. Areas along and north of Interstate 70 as well as east of Kansas Highway 27 currently see a marginal risk for severe weather on Friday with strong wind gusts being the primary storm hazard. Excessive rainfall may also be possible on Friday with showers and thunderstorms as there is a marginal to slight risk for excessive rainfall within most of the region.
