YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Heat indices in the low 100s are in the forecast for this afternoon, especially for areas along and east of Kansas Highway 25.  Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions continue this afternoon across the entire Tri-State region with a higher concern in portions of the area along and west of the Colorado border. Low relative humidity and southerly to southwesterly winds gusting up to 30 mph are in the forecast with the region seeing slowly drying fuels. Please use caution if burning outdoors.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Heat indices in the low 100s are possible again on Thursday afternoon, especially for areas along and east of Kansas Highway 25.  A more active pattern returns for the latter portion of the week with the potential for excessive rainfall and perhaps severe weather.
