YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory is in effect on Saturday through 8 PM CDT for Hitchcock, Red Willow, Rawlins, Thomas, Logan Decatur, Norton, Sheridan, Graham and Gove counties. Heat index values up to 108 degrees are expected. Heat indices may not fall below 75 degrees tonight for some locations. This will put additional stress on crops, livestock, pets and any vulnerable populations.  Low chance for storms across far northwestern portions of the area, locations generally north of I-70 and west of Highway 27, this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...  A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Sunday afternoon and evening for Yuma, Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado as critical fire weather conditions are currently forecast. Elsewhere across the area elevated to near critical fire weather conditions remain possible.  Heat indices will remain in the low 100s Sunday and Monday especially along and east of Highway 25.  Monday through Wednesday, elevated to near critical fire weather conditions continue across the entire forecast area. Caution should be used if burning outdoors.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated.
