YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory remains in effect for portions of the area today, mainly along and east of Highway 83 between noon and sunset.  Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are anticipated to move into far eastern Colorado around 6 or 7 PM MDT, continuing east into parts of western Kansas and extreme southwest Nebraska through about midnight before slowly dissipating and weakening.  The primary hazards will be damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail up to one inch in diameter. There will be a heightened threat for blowing dust and significant reductions in visibility on the leading edge of the thunderstorm outflow with dust storm conditions possible. The area of greatest concern is west of a line from Dundy county to Wallace county from around 6 PM MDT through 9 PM MDT.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  Scattered thunderstorms may develop along portions of the Colorado Front Range and Palmer Divide Saturday afternoon, tracking east toward northeast Colorado and adjacent portions of Kansas and Nebraska Saturday evening. Confidence in thunderstorm development, coverage and location remains below average, similar to previous days. With a hot airmass in place over the region, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible in association with any storms.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will be needed from 6 PM MDT (7 PM CDT) through 10 PM MDT (11 PM CDT). We would appreciate reports of severe weather and blowing dust via telephone and social media.
