YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TONIGHT...  Tonight, Isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this evening coming into the area from Colorado, dissipating around or shortly after midnight MDT (1 AM CDT). The primary hazards will be wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail below one inch in diameter. The area of focus will be mainly west of Highway 25. The threat for blowing dust exists but is low, and would be confined to areas along and south of Interstate 70 this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations east of a line from McCook to Oakley Friday afternoon and evening. Heat index values up to 107 degrees are expected.  Friday evening, isolated to scattered thunderstorms may move into the Tri-State area from the west or northwest. The main threat with these storms will be wind gusts up to 70 MPH. It is possible that blowing dust could develop on any thunderstorm outflows.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
