YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS EVENING...  A Heat Advisory remains in effect for locations east of a line from McCook to Oakley through early evening. Heat index values up to 105 degrees are expected.  Isolated strong to potentially severe thunderstorms are possible for locations generally extending from McCook to Goodland and much of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado. Localized sub severe wind gusts and hail below one inch in diameter will be the primary hazards.  Tonight, Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are anticipated to move into the area from southeast Colorado, dissipating around or shortly after midnight MDT (1 AM CDT). The primary hazards will be wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail below one inch in diameter. The threat for blowing dust exists but is low, and would be confined to areas along and south of Interstate 70 this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations east of a line from McCook to Oakley Friday afternoon and evening. Heat index values up to 107 degrees are expected.  Friday evening, isolated to scattered thunderstorms may move into the Tri-State area from the west or northwest. The main threat with these storms will be wind gusts up to 70 MPH. It is possible that blowing dust could develop on any thunderstorm outflows.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
