YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for this afternoon and evening for Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in eastern Colorado. Low relative humidity and gusty winds from the southwest will increase the fire danger. Near critical to localized critical fire weather conditions may also affect the counties surrounding the Red Flag Warning this afternoon. Be cautious with any activity that involves sparks.  High based showers and storms are possible today across Yuma and Dundy counties through the evening. The main hazards are dry lightning leading to grass fires and localized strong downbursts.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...  Near critical fire weather conditions are possible for counties along and south of I-70 on Sunday.  For Monday through Thursday, there will be a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday. In addition to potential severe weather, these storms will also produce cloud to ground lightning which may spark grass fires.   .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be required.
