YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for this afternoon and evening for Kit Carson and Cheyenne [CO] counties. Low relative humidity and gusty winds from the southwest will increase the fire danger.  Near critical to localized critical fire weather conditions may also affect the counties surrounding the Red Flag Warning this afternoon. Be cautious with any activity that involves sparks.  High based showers and storms are possible across Yuma and Dundy counties through the evening. The main hazards are dry lightning leading to grass fires and localized strong downbursts.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...  Near critical fire weather conditions are possible for counties along and south of I-70 Saturday and Sunday.  For the period Monday through Wednesday, there will be a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms. The primary hazards at this time will be cloud to ground lightning which may create grass fires.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time. Spotters are however encouraged to report any fires to local law enforcement.
