This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Showers will develop this afternoon, widespread across the high country and isolated to scattered over the plains. Showers will change mostly to snow across the high country this evening, accumulation should be light and mostly confined to the mountains. Showers should remain rain on the plains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday A significant weather system is expected for Tuesday into Wednesday, with widespread and locally heavy precipitation anticipated. Heavy snowfall is expected for the mountains and foothills, and Palmer Divide with amounts that could be measured in feet for localized areas east of the Continental Divide, particularly for the higher elevations of Park, Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties). For the lower elevations, rain is expected for most of the period with a possible transition to snow late Tuesday evening or night. Palmer Divide will have higher potential for an early switchover to snow and impactful snow accumulations beginning late Tuesday afternoon.
