YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Yuma and Kit Carson counties in Colorado, Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red Willow counties in Nebraska, and Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, and Thomas counties in Kansas throughout today into tonight. Snowfall accumulation totals in these areas expect to reach up to between 3 and 5 inches with locally higher amounts possible, especially in Colorado. Blowing snow is possible within areas under the advisory along and west of the Colorado border this afternoon hours. Hazardous traveling conditions due to slick roads and reduced visibilities are anticipated.  Reductions in visibility due to snowfall along the Interstate 70 corridor are possible today. If traveling keep up to date with the most current weather conditions.  Areas in east central Colorado may see an occasional wind gust up to around 55 mph this afternoon allowing for some blowing dust in areas that have not seen snowfall.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...  Elevated fire weather conditions and patchy blowing dust are possible Thursday afternoon for areas along and south of Highway 40.  Elevated fire weather conditions are possible Saturday and Sunday afternoons for areas along and south of Interstate 70.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed. Please report any snowfall totals or visibility reductions to the National Weather Service in Goodland.
