Given the instability, can't rule out a band that may contain brief moderate to heavy snowfall rates, but location is less certain. Showers will push onto the plains in the afternoon through the evening hours while snow may mix in later this evening. The mountains may see another 2-6 inches with localized higher amounts possible, while the plains may see up to 2 inches mainly on grassy surfaces. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Another area of snow will spread from the mountains onto the plains late Friday, decreasing from west to east on Saturday. Light to moderate snowfall is expected in the mountains with some travel impacts. On the plains, most areas should see light snowfall, and some travel impact is possible mainly on Saturday morning. Cool weather with a chance of snow showers will continue Sunday and Monday, with the best chance of more snow on the plains is Sunday night.
