WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...WINTER STORM WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS THROUGH SATURDAY...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Snow will increase across the northern mountains today, becoming heavy at times tonight. In addition, strong westerly winds up to 50 mph will create poor visibility and blowing snow over the mountain passes. Expect winter driving conditions with icy and snowpacked roads by tonight.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday  Snow will decrease from north to south in the mountains during the day Saturday. Snow covered roads and difficult travel are expected Saturday morning with slow improvement expected Saturday afternoon. Widespread snow ends by Saturday evening, but scattered snow showers will remain possible through Sunday evening.  For the lower elevations east of the mountains, a cold front will move through early Saturday. This will bring a chance of rain showers in the afternoon, possibly mixing with or changing over to snow Saturday evening, near the foothills and Palmer Divide.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight, however mountain snowfall reports will be appreciated.
