...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE DENVER/BOULDER AREA, EASTERN DOUGLAS, AND WESTERN ELBERT COUNTIES... ...WINTER STORM WATCHES IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON... This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Strong and gusty winds will develop early this morning over the mountains and foothills, spreading eastward over the plains through the morning hours. Gusts up to 65 mph are expected over the mountains and up to 45 mph across the plains. The winds will decrease during the afternoon hours. Snow showers in the higher mountains will diminish by afternoon with any additional accumulations under 2 inches. Red flag conditions are possible over portions of the Boulder and Denver areas and Douglas county this afternoon with gusty winds and low humidities. Winds will increase again over the higher mountains with speeds up to 55 mph developing later tonight in advance of the next storm system. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Snow returns to the mountains Friday morning. Heavier snowfall is expected for the mountains Friday night and Saturday. The snow and windy conditions will lead to snow covered roads and significant travel impacts. Periods of snow will continue in the mountains through the weekend and into early next week. For the plains, a cold front will move through early Saturday with a chance of rain showers in the afternoon, mixing with or changing over to snow Saturday night, especially near the foothills and Palmer Divide. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
