YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY... A plume of blowing dust producing sharp reductions in visibility and poor air quality remains possible through about 1 PM MST along the Kit Carson Cheyenne county Colorado border east into northern Wallace, southern Sherman, and western Logan counties. This may impact Interstate 70 from Flagler to Burlington. The blowing dust will produce visibilities down to a few miles at times and create poor air quality. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect this afternoon for Cheyenne County Colorado, along with Wallace, Greeley and Wichita counties in Kansas. In the warning area, west winds gusting close to 50 MPH and low relative humidity will produce Critical fire weather conditions. Elsewhere, relative humidity values won't be quite as low. However west winds will still be gusting 25 to 45 mph. Outdoor burning should be avoided across the area. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY... Light accumulating snow is forecast Wednesday night through Thursday evening across the Tri-State area. Snowpacked roadways and reduced visibilities may occur. Residents and travelers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed. We would appreciate any reports of blowing dust via telephone and social media. Report any fires to local dispatch.
