YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Locally hazardous travel conditions are possible this morning due to the potential from ice on area roadways and elevated surfaces. Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise additional caution, especially on bridges and overpasses.  There is a low chance for northern portions of Yuma County to see light snow for a few hours around sunrise. No accumulation is expected.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Yuma County in Colorado, Dundy County in Nebraska and Cheyenne County in Kansas. The watch is in effect from Sunday night at midnight to midnight Monday night. There is the potential for accumulating snow as well as freezing rain that will impact area travel.  Areas south and east of the watch will see light accumulation of both snow and freezing rain, especially west of Highway 83. Please stay tuned for further updates as the watch could be expanded.  Wind chill readings in the single digits above and below zero are possible from Monday night into Thursday night.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed.
