This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect into this afternoon due to ice potential. Locally dense fog and reduced visibility are also likely throughout the morning. Travelers should use caution on area roadways. Locations outside of the Winter Weather Advisory may see a brief period of freezing drizzle this morning. This afternoon, near critical fire weather conditions will develop in western portions of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties of northeast Colorado. Northwest winds gusting to 30 mph and humidity in the middle teens will contribute to the high fire danger. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will be possible each afternoon Friday through Monday, mainly west of Highway 25 and into northeast Colorado. Low humidity and gusty winds are expected each day. By Tuesday and Wednesday, a large low pressure system will be impacting the Tri-State Region. While the exact timing and location remains a little uncertain, it appears that there is a threat for accumulating snow primarily north of Interstate 70. Strong northwest winds may also lead to blowing and drifting snow. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are encouraged to safely report any ice and snow accumulations along with any slick or hazardous roads.
