YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY... A Winter Weather Advisory continues for much of the Tri State region along and east of Highway 27 starting late tonight. A light wintry mix of precipitation is expected to develop after midnight. Light ice accumulation is expected. Areas of fog and drizzle will likely reduce visibility to less than one mile at times along and south of Interstate 70. Travelers should use caution on area roadways. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... The Winter Weather Advisory continues into Thursday afternoon due to ice potential. Areas of fog and reduced visibility are also likely. Travelers should use caution on area roadways. Thursday afternoon, near critical fire weather conditions will develop in western portions of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties of northeast Colorado. Northwest winds gusting to 30 mph and humidity in the middle teens will contribute to the high fire danger. Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will be possible each afternoon Friday through Monday, mainly west of Highway 25 and into northeast Colorado. Low humidity and gusty winds are expected each day. By Tuesday and Wednesday, a large low pressure system will be impacting the Tri-State Region. While the exact timing and location remains a little uncertain, it appears that there is a threat for accumulating snow primarily north of Interstate 70. Strong northwest winds may also lead to blowing and drifting snow. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
