Repeating, outdoor burning is not advised today. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... A cold front will track southeastward through northwest Kansas during the day on Thursday. Breezy to strong southwest winds are anticipated ahead of the front which may result in some blowing dust mainly along and south of Interstate 70 where sustained winds may reach 30 to 40 mph during the late morning and early to mid afternoon. Winds will weaken as the front approaches, then shift to the north. Breezy north winds will arrive later in the evening.. several hours after the frontal passage. A few thunderstorms cannot be ruled out late Thursday afternoon and early Thursday evening, mainly east and south of Colby, Kansas. A strong to severe storm can't be ruled out. Light rain.. or a light wintry mix.. cannot be ruled out over portions of the area late Thursday night and Friday morning.
