WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR MOST OF WEST AND CENTRAL COLORADO...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  There will be a threat of flash flooding in the mountains today and tonight, with the greatest risk in recent burn areas. Showers and embedded thunderstorms will become more widespread across the entire area this afternoon and evening, bringing locally heavy rainfall. The heaviest rain is expected to occur in the mountains of Summit, Park, and Grand Counties where totals of 1 to 1.5 inches can be expected with a few spots possibly seeing as much as 2 inches. Meanwhile, generally lighter rainfall amounts closer to one half inch can be expected over most of the I-25 Corridor and plains, although a few spots over the northeast corner will see amounts closer to an inch.  Peak precipitation coverage and intensity will be from late this afternoon through the evening, possibly lingering into the late night hours.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday  Widespread moderate rainfall will continue on Thursday in most areas with the flood watch continuing through 6 pm Thursday evening. Clearing will occur Thursday night into Friday with dry conditions expected through the weekend.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. However, any reports of heavy rainfall will be appreciated.
