This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Expect elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon across the plains with warm, dry air and winds gusting up to around 25 mph. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the mountains south of Interstate 70 this afternoon. Brief heavy rain and wind gusts to 40 mph are possible with these storms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Tuesday, hot and dry weather will persist with elevated fire weather conditions across the plains. Critical conditions are not currently expected, and would be limited in coverage and duration. Tuesday night through Thursday, will see much cooler temperatures along with scattered to numerous showers and possibly a few storms. Generally light to moderate rainfall rates are expected, however, the mountains could see periods of locally heavy rainfall with a limited threat of flash flooding in and near the burn areas.
