This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... Southerly winds will strengthen during the day. Sustained winds ranging from 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Wind of this magnitude may create difficult travel conditions for high- profile vehicles, especially on east-west highways such as Interstate 70, where cross winds will be strongest. The gusty winds will lead to near critical fire weather conditions this afternoon. Caution is to be used if burning outdoors. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms producing some gusty outflow winds to 55 mph and a threat for blowing dust and reduced visibilities are possible this afternoon and evening along and east of the Colorado Kansas border. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY... Friday strong to severe thunderstorms may occur over the northern part of the Tri-State Area.
