This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight Record heat is expected again today, with highs in the upper 90s to 100 degrees across the plains. Temperatures in the high country will reach the upper 70s to upper 80s. The hot and dry weather will also lead to elevated fire weather conditions across the area, especially across the far eastern plains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday Record heat and elevated fire weather conditions will persist Thursday. A heat advisory is in effect for high temperatures of 98 to 105 degrees. A Fire Weather Watch is also in effect for the eastern Colorado plains east of Sterling and Limon, where winds will gust up to 30 mph and humidities will be as low as 9 percent. Much cooler weather will arrive by Friday and Saturday, along with a chance of showers. A few snowflakes will even be possible in the mountains, mainly above 10 thousand feet. Most precipitation amounts will be light.
