This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight There may be a brief period of patchy fog this morning, otherwise more sunshine and slightly warmer weather can be expected today. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible mainly south of Interstate 70 this afternoon and evening, with isolated storms along the northern border. Consequently, no impacts are expected in the burn areas. The stronger storms today will occur over southern portions of Elbert and Lincoln counties, where locally heavy rain and gusty outflow winds 50-60 mph will be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Monday and Tuesday will be warmer and drier, but there will still be a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms both days. A couple strong to marginally severe storms will be possible over the plains. The threat of flash flooding in the burn areas will be limited. The chance of thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall will increase by Thursday, as a more active weather pattern develops across the Front Range. There would be an increased risk of flash flooding, especially for the burn areas. That threat may last into Friday. Warmer and drier weather is then expected to develop sometime next weekend. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
