WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...HEAT ADVISORY FOR MOST OF THE NORTHEAST PLAINS OF COLORADO THROUGH 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight  Hot temperatures can be expected today, with highs in the mid 90s to 103 across the plains. Stay hydrated, wear light colored and loose fitting clothing, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and seek shade if possible.  Isolated to scattered late day thunderstorms are expected for the foothills and mountains. They will produce light rain and gusty outflow winds to up to 50 mph. There is a very low threat of burn area flash flooding in the mountains this afternoon.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday  Saturday will be another hot day, although a cool front arriving late in the day should offer up slight cooling and scattered thunderstorms. There will be at least a limited threat of flash flooding in recent burn areas from isolated stronger storms.  Cooler temperatures and a higher coverage of showers and storms can be expected Sunday. Highs may not reach 90F for a change across the plains. Some of the thunderstorms in the mountains and near the Palmer Divide will likely produce locally heavy rainfall. The threat of flash flooding in and near recent burn areas will be elevated.  Somewhat cooler temperatures and scattered daily showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast through much of next week.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
