YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for portions of the Tri-State area, mainly north of Interstate 70 and west of U.S. Highway 83. Outdoor burning is not advised. Repeating, outdoor burning is not advised today. Any fires that start may rapidly grow and spread out of control.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Thunderstorms developing in the lee of the Rockies Thursday afternoon will increase in coverage and track eastward into western Kansas during the late afternoon and evening. Brief, localized instances of damaging wind and locally heavy rainfall are possible in association with any thunderstorms. Areas situated west of Kansas Highway 25 are at relative greatest risk for severe weather, mainly between 4 PM and 10 PM MDT.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  A few severe thunderstorms are possible late Thursday afternoon and evening. Spotters are encouraged to report any severe or significant weather to the National Weather Service in Goodland via social media or telephone.
