This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... There is a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms through 9 PM MDT (10 PM CDT) across much of the area. One area of concern is along a warm front in the vicinity of the Kansas Nebraska border. Although considerable uncertainty remains whether or not thunderstorms will form, should they do, the primary hazards will be very large hail, damaging winds and perhaps a tornado. A second area of concern is generally along and south of Interstate 70 through about 9 PM MDT (10 PM CDT). In this area, high based thunderstorms will be possible with the primary hazards being damaging winds and perhaps large hail. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... Much above normal temperatures can be expected across the entire region Friday through Monday. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s to 105 degrees each day. In addition, elevated fire weather conditions will develop each afternoon due to low humidity and gusty south winds, though fuels will be lacking for more critical conditions. A Heat Advisory may be needed for those along and east of Kansas Highway 25 Saturday night and Sunday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation would be needed if thunderstorms form through this evening.
