This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Record hot temperatures are expected today with highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees in the Denver metro area. Over the eastern plains it will be a little warmer, with highs ranging from 100 to 105 degrees. Strong winds will develop with gusts up to 35 mph across the plains and 50 mph across the mountains. The very hot, dry, and windy conditions will lead to critical fire weather conditions. Despite those conditions, the green fuels will lower the threat of rapidly growing fires such that a Red Flag Warning was not issued. Nevertheless, burning or doing activities that could create sparks should be avoided if possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday It will be hot through much of the period with the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday. Elevated fire weather conditions are expected Tuesday through Thursday. Monsoonal moisture will arrive on Friday and into this weekend. This will bring a chance for storms mainly across the higher terrain with the potential for burn area flash flooding. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
