WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight  Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon on the plains, mainly south of Interstate 76. A few strong to severe storms are possible south of Castle Rock and Limon, with hail up to an inch in diameter, brief heavy rain, and wind gusts to 60 mph. Further north storms will be weaker. Over the mountains only isolated storms are expected, mainly south of Interstate 70. The thunderstorm activity will end early this evening.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday  Drier and considerably hotter weather is expected for Friday through Sunday. Isolated to widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms may occur across portions of the higher terrain. Across the plains, there will be widely scattered thunderstorms mainly on Sunday. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions may develop across the area from Sunday into Monday.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
